Real-world Long COVID symptoms translated into in-game effects
Long COVID has affected more than 100 million people globally. Yet too little is known about it, especially among the younger generations. Being able to recognize its symptoms early can help young people find the right doctors. But Long COVID news rarely finds its way to them. To reach them in a meaningful way, Long COVID Europe created Long COVID Mode – 20 real symptoms coded into 3 popular games – Elden Ring, Minecraft, The Witcher 3. Long COVID Mode was shared with influential gamers. Through their game characters, they showed millions of viewers what Long COVID symptoms look and feel like.
